The 2.0-litre four and the four-speed automatic make no promises they cannot keep. Power arrives politely, the gearbox goes about its work without fuss, and once you are up to speed the whole car settles into an easy rhythm. It is the sort of drive that leaves you thinking about your day rather than the machinery underneath you.
The cabin is honest grey cloth and clear dials, everything within reach and nothing shouting for attention.
